Virtual Sailor is an excellent Sailing Simulator written by Ilan Papini. It runs on Windows Machines and Accurately Simulates all sorts of nautical craft from Steamships, Sailboats, Submarines, even Amphibious Aircraft. The best thing about it is that it allows the creation of add-on Boats and Scenery. There are all kinds of Boats and Scenery being built, and shared, by a large number of very talented people. I have sailed the Titanic ( it looks gorgeous but really does not turn well at all ), The Hunley ( a confederate, crank powered submarine ), The Seaview and its Flying Sub.

The Manhattan Project: At Present, I am working on a Scenery area which will depict Long Island Sound from Block Island to Sandy Hook and Includes Manhattan Island and a chunk of the Hudson River thrown in.

For all of you Virtual Sailors, I'll have a working version available for download soon.

The Statue of Libery: Actually Ilan Gave me the computer model. I built the base and the island under it. See Below
Here is a Shot of the "AZS Vogon" ( A Constructor Ship for all of you "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" fans ) It is a re-paint of Juergen Klemps fine ship the Vestkysten. Re-painting is where I use Photoshop and make new surface textures which change only the color of the boat, leaving the shape unchanged.
This is the Vogon by herself. "In drydock" if you will. I used a basic "schoolbus" color scheme. Where I live, most construction vehicles are painted somewhat like this as well. I decorated it with the Hitchhikers Guide Logo and the flag says "Dont Panic", a reminder to me during my efforts to understand 3D computer modeling. Not for the Faint Hearted.
This is the whole Scenery Area Map. I couldnt resist indicating where I live.
This is a group of buildings with trees between them. I the simulator the black background behind the trees becomes transparent.
A generic pier. About 1500 feet long. See the Gallery for more model pictures.
